Sweden in conference
In Sweden a membership meeting is being held in the Stockholm area during the weekend of 22-23 October.
A lot of information is to be found on the Internet today, but meeting people in person can be the difference between a life of solitude and a complete turnabout, where one can find the strength within oneself, together with others in the same situation. Therefore, the membership meeting will focus on how to create a place that is inviting for people who stutter to take the first step into the community.
On Sunday, Dr. Per Alm, researcher and person who stutters, will present the latest research about stuttering and its causes. Andreas Knutsson will tell us about the advocacy work to draw attention to the lack of support in schools for students who stutter.
The National Stuttering Association, Stamningsförbundet, will also present their new information material about stuttering.
