Around the World 2026 – Skaraborg, Sweden
Skaraborgs stamningsförening (SSF) is a local stuttering organisation that each year celebrates the ISAD by organising a seminar on or around the ISAD.
When: Saturday, October 17, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM,
Where: Hotel Scandic Billingen, Skövde
This year, we have invited Teresa Dahlström, a licensed speech-language pathologist, to talk about stuttering and the voice.
Program:
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Stuttering – new perspectives on support and treatment.
How do we view stuttering today, and how are perspectives on treatment approaches and goals evolving? This lecture provides an introduction to stuttering and explains how a speech-language pathologist can support people who stutter—regardless of age. The focus is on understanding, interaction, and possibilities, with the individual’s needs and daily life at the center.
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch
- 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: The Voice – caring for your most important work tool.
Our voice is with us throughout the day, but how can we care for it sustainably? In this lecture, you will gain knowledge about the voice, vocal health, and common challenges. The session also includes a practical workshop featuring simple exercises that allow you to discover, train, and strengthen your own voice.
- 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Coffee/tea and conversation
SSF members are offered free lunch, both lectures, and afternoon refreshments at no cost and get travel reimbursement. Non-members are invited to the lectures but pay 250 SEK for lunch and refreshments.
