Younger Self
Hi, my name is Courtney Jackson and my question is if you could tell your younger self anything, what would that one thing be? Thank you!

Hi Courtney!
Usually I tell myself (younger or older self:-)) that I am ‘good enough’ and/or my work is ‘good enough’. I like this specific term, and this term approached my mind immediately when I read your question.
Thank you and best wishes from
Hilda
Hey Courtney! This is such a good and thoughtful question. I would tell my younger self, “you are worthy, you are enough, and you can do this.” Courtney, do me a favor…take a dry erase marker, write that on your bathroom mirror and read if every morning. 🙂
As a young clinician and an old one, I would tell myself (and still do)–listen, be open to change and be flexible. Approach each person who stutters as if you are seeing stuttering for the first time. They are the expert on their stuttering and let them teach you what you can do to be helpful.
