An Interview With My Client, a Person Who Stutters, and a Manager With Strong Communication Skills – Faith Leung — 4 Comments
This is such a powerful interview that Nan has given so eloquently. From acknowledging her hardships and being vulnerable, to sharing a message that reflects such an inner strength is both motivating and touching. As a graduate student who is studying speech pathology and taking a course on stuttering, we have explored the impact that it can have on so many facets of one’s life. Nan created such a wonderful perspective on the role of one’s voice as a Person Who Stutters. Finding a balance with listening to your inner voice + true voice seems to be an intertwined, ever-changing challenge depending on so many factors. A question for Nan: What role has self-acceptance played in your ability to speak more confidently? Thank you for sharing such a positive outlook on this topic + bringing such wonderful thoughts to the theme of this year’s conference.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’m glad Nan’s interview resonated with you. She indeed brought a powerful perspective to this year’s theme, reflecting both her journey and resilience. I’ll pass along your insightful question to her about self-acceptance and how it has influenced her confidence in speaking. It’s wonderful to hear about your studies in speech pathology and your focus on stuttering—wishing you all the best as you continue to explore this important field. Thank you again for engaging so meaningfully with Nan’s message!
It’s been great to hear Nan speak about her stuttering. I wish for more PWS to share their voices. Thanks for posting this, Faith, and encouraging your client to share.
