These photographs for Throwback Thursday are from the Manhattan Stuttering Group’s 10th Anniversary Party in the Fall of 2004. Elizabeth Kapstein and I co-founded the chapter in 1994. The early chapter meetings were held at Elizabeth’s apartment in the East Village. Later we moved to a permanent home at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. What a festive and enjoyable evening that was, and reflected the broad range of groups that were represented: Friends, the National Organization of Young People Who Stutter, the National Stuttering Association, the Our Time Theater Company (now known as SAY), and the Stuttering Foundation.
